About Atomic Racer
Atomic Racer puts the chase on a busy road. Your targets are trucks carrying nuclear material, and the car has rockets to stop them. Other traffic is in the way, with police adding another reason to watch what is coming. Finding the right truck is only part of the job; you still need room to approach it and a useful position from which to fire.
The right arrow is the accelerator. That is worth knowing before the first run, because this does not use the up-arrow arrangement familiar from many racing games. Get a feel for the speed first. A gap that looks comfortable while you are moving slowly can disappear quickly once the chase gets going. Keep checking the road ahead instead of staring at the truck you want to hit.
How to play Atomic Racer
Stop the nuclear transports with your rockets while surviving the road traffic.
- Start a run from the original menu and click inside the game so it receives keyboard input.
- Use the arrow-key controls to drive; press the right arrow to accelerate.
- Approach an atomic truck while keeping a clear path around the ordinary cars.
- Press Space to fire a rocket. Watch the result, then prepare for the next target instead of continuing to fire blindly.
Controls
| Input | Action |
|---|---|
| Arrow keys | Drive the car; the right arrow accelerates. |
| Space | Fire a rocket. |
Click or tap inside the game before using the keyboard. The fullscreen button below the player gives you more room; the restart button reloads the game.
Tips for a better round
- Leave space around the car before speeding up. Getting closer to the target is not much use if traffic leaves you nowhere to go.
- Line up a shot when the road gives you an opening. A rushed rocket and a collision can turn the same short approach into two problems.
Questions about Atomic Racer
