About Billiard Blitz
Six levels, a pool table and a reason to keep the balls moving. The original Billiard Blitz asks you to pocket the balls as quickly as you can. It is easy to lose time deciding between two awkward shots while a much simpler one is waiting on the other side of the table. Before lining up the cue, take a look at what is actually open.
The mouse controls aiming, power and the shot. Those are worth treating as separate parts of the decision. First choose the pocket and the contact you need. Then consider how hard to hit. A ball close to a pocket does not automatically call for a powerful shot, and a successful pot can still leave the cue ball in a position you did not want.
This guide concerns the older six-level game, rather than Billiard Blitz Hustle, Snooker Star or Nine Ball. The similar names are a good reason to check the title before following instructions for a different edition. Here the task described in the original listing is straightforward: get the balls into the pockets with as little wasted time as possible. There is room to improve simply by making the next choice sooner.
How to play Billiard Blitz
Complete the six levels by pocketing the balls as quickly as possible.
- Check the table before setting up the first shot. Choose a ball with a clear route to a pocket.
- Use the mouse aiming control to line up the cue ball and the ball you want to pot. Consider the contact angle, not just the direction of the pocket.
- Set the power and take the shot using the mouse controls. Watch where both balls finish so that the next decision is based on the new layout.
- Choose the next available pot and keep working through the level. If an attempt is slow, remember which shot used up the time before trying the table again.
Controls
| Input | Action |
|---|---|
| Mouse | Aim, set shot power and shoot. These are the controls identified on the original six-level game listing. |
Tips for a better round
- Look for your next target while watching the result of the current shot. That cuts down the pause between decisions without making the aiming itself careless.
- A difficult pot is not always the best first choice. Clear an easier route if it will give you a more useful position for the remaining balls.
