About Old San Juan Kart
Pick Coquí if you'd like a balanced kart to start with. Garita puts the emphasis on grip; Flamboyán is the speed-focused choice. There are eight racers on that screen, each with a different set of ratings. You don't have to stick with the first one after a rough race.
Viejo San Juan is the three-lap street course. You'll pass colourful buildings, hanging umbrellas and walls along the coast. It looks inviting, right up to the point where the front of your kart finds a building. Leave some room to turn. Expreso Las Américas is a different proposition: a divided road, two laps and traffic to work around. Both races have computer opponents and pickups you can use while driving.
How to play Old San Juan Kart
Bring the kart through the required laps and try to get ahead of the field. Your position is shown beside the lap counter.
- Choose a circuit, then select a racer. A balanced character is a sensible place to learn the steering.
- Accelerate away from the grid and look past the next corner. Brake before a tight turn, then feed the kart back onto the straight.
- Drive through a pickup and use the item when it will help. Keep racing until the results appear; Race Again starts another run.
Controls
| Input | Action |
|---|---|
| Drive | WASD or the arrow keys accelerate, brake and steer. |
| Drift | Shift hops the kart into a drift. |
| Item and view | E uses an item; C looks back; M toggles sound. |
| Touch | Use the steering pad and the on-screen gas, brake and item buttons. |
Click or tap inside the game before using the keyboard. The fullscreen button below the player gives you more room; the restart button reloads the game.
Tips for a better round
- Learn the historic circuit before switching to the expressway; traffic adds something else to watch.
- If you hit a wall, get the kart pointing back onto the road before trying to accelerate away.
- Check the racer stats if you keep struggling with grip. Try a different character rather than repeating the same mistake.
