About Bloody Fun Day

Death has a surprisingly awkward job in Bloody Fun Day. The little Reaper stands on a hexagonal board surrounded by brightly coloured creatures, and every attack costs health. Killing the red ones gives health back. You can see the problem: a tempting attack somewhere else on the board may leave you too weak to reach the next useful red creature.

Urban Squall built the puzzle around that need to keep going. The other colours have a purpose as well, charging powers that can help the Reaper reach the red creatures. The buttons below the board show those abilities and whether they are ready. An ordinary adjacent attack and a charged power are different tools; look at both before spending another point of health.

The cute figures make the board look welcoming, but the shrinking population is what eventually puts pressure on a run. You have to think about the position left after an attack. A move that pays off immediately can still leave an unhelpful next step. This is a puzzle about surviving the consequences of your choices, with a rather cheerful-looking cast of victims.

How to play Bloody Fun Day

Keep the Reaper alive by finding useful attacks, restoring health from red creatures and making good use of charged powers.

  1. Locate the Reaper and read the health display before making an attack. Look for red creatures nearby.
  2. Click a hexagon next to the Reaper to attack it. Remember that attacking uses health.
  3. Choose red creatures when you need to recover health. Use the other colours to build up special powers.
  4. When a power is charged, select its button below the board and follow its action. Check the new position before making another ordinary attack.

Tips for a better round

  • Before attacking a non-red creature, check how you will reach a red one afterwards. Keeping that route open matters when health is low.
  • Look at the power buttons before assuming an awkward position is hopeless. A charged ability may give you another way out.

Questions about Bloody Fun Day

Why does the Reaper lose health when attacking?

That is the cost of an ordinary attack. Killing red creatures restores health, so you need to balance the two.

Are creatures of the other colours useless?

No. They charge special powers that can make it easier to reach the red creatures you need.
