There are two dates worth remembering before picking a download this week. November's PlayStation Plus Monthly Games become available on Tuesday, November 3, and the announced window ends on November 30. October's selection stays claimable until Monday, November 2. If you've been meaning to check it, there's still time.
The incoming games are Dead Island 2 and Tomb Raider IV–VI Remastered for PS4 and PS5, plus Monster Train 2 for PS5. Sony announced the lineup on October 28; it isn't live yet as of this Sunday.
Which one gets the first evening?
We'd probably start with Monster Train 2. There is something appealing about committing to a few decisions at a time, seeing what happens to a plan, and carrying the mistake into the next attempt. The catch with any card game is discovering that a supposedly short session has eaten the evening. Decide how late you actually want to stay up before starting another run.
The Tomb Raider collection includes The Last Revelation, Chronicles and The Angel of Darkness, with original and remastered graphics. For a return visit, we'd switch between them in the same room before going any further. Memory is a generous thing. It's interesting to see which details you recognise immediately and which ones you had quietly invented over the years.
Dead Island 2 is the option to put in a group chat. Sony lists online co-op for three players. Getting everyone to agree on an evening may be the bigger task; asking now is more useful than deciding to play together and leaving the date vague.
Those are our choices on paper, not reviews of the games. There's no need to download all three at once. Check October's deadline, add anything you want from that selection, then give one November game a proper evening when Tuesday arrives.
