If your last V is still parked outside an unfinished job, there's a fairly practical question here: continue that save, or start again? We'd try the new gig first. A contained story is an easier way back into a large RPG than remembering every item in an old inventory.
A meeting before the anime
The developer says Wakako's new job puts V alongside Weak Kingsley and leads to Night City Prison. Its story takes place before Edgerunners 2. That gives viewers a little more background, but you don't need to treat a television watchlist as homework before opening the game. This is an announcement report; we haven't played the new mission.
Dual wielding is the addition we'd want to experiment with after that. Two pistols or revolvers sound like a very different excuse to revisit a familiar fight. Whether that actually improves an existing character build is something to find out in play, rather than assume from a screenshot.
Check your edition before downloading
Xbox Play Anywhere is useful if you move between a console and a Windows PC. The Xbox store lists the feature, and CD Projekt Red says the digital purchase and progress travel between the supported Xbox and PC versions. That doesn't mean a purchase from every PC storefront turns into an Xbox licence.
There's an older-console catch, too. The store still lists Xbox One for the base game, but its description says that version stopped receiving patches in 2022. Series X or S is required for later updates on console. Don't queue a large download on an Xbox One expecting this new content.
For us, a new job is the stronger invitation than another long feature list. Night City already has plenty to do. A reason to return to a particular person or place is easier to act on. Once you've finished the gig, there's time to decide whether the two-gun approach deserves a fresh save of its own.
