About Snowboard Slalom

The next flag is already coming toward you while you finish dealing with the last one. That is the rhythm of Snowboard Slalom: read the marker, pass on the indicated side, then set up for the next gate. Obstacles on the slope mean you cannot concentrate on the flags alone.

Steering uses the arrow keys. Look ahead far enough to begin a turn before the marker is beside you, especially if the next gate is on the other side of the run. When you miss a flag, remember which way you were pointed after the previous one. The mistake may have started there. There is no advantage in clearing a gate neatly if it leaves the board heading away from the next safe opening. Chris Hilgert’s original 2002 game keeps the run compact, with the route and the snowboarder visible together on the snowy slope.

How to play Snowboard Slalom

Descend the slope, pass the flags on their indicated sides and avoid obstacles.

  1. Read the control screen and choose Start.
  2. Use the arrow keys to guide the snowboarder down the course.
  3. Read each marker and pass on the required side rather than aiming directly at the flag.
  4. Keep looking ahead for obstacles and prepare the turn toward the next gate.

Tips for a better round

  • Look one gate ahead so that passing a flag does not leave you pointed away from the next one.
  • An early, modest turn usually leaves more room than a last-second correction beside an obstacle.
