About Onslaught! Arena

Walk left, attack right. It sounds obvious until a room full of monsters makes you forget which hand is doing what. Onslaught! Arena is a solo survival shooter with separate movement and attack keys, a medieval setting and a stone arena that gradually feels much smaller than it looked at the start.

The bats don't wait for you to finish reading a pickup. Lost Decade Games' pixel creatures keep coming in waves, and your fighter has to make room to deal with them. You can attack while moving, so there is little reason to stay rooted in one spot once the enemies start gathering.

How to play Onslaught! Arena

Survive the incoming waves and score by defeating monsters. If your health runs out, the attempt is over and you can start again.

  1. Choose New game. Try WASD movement and arrow-key attacks while the opening prompts are still helping you.
  2. Let an approaching monster follow you, then fire back toward it. Keep enough empty floor beside your fighter to change direction.
  3. Work through the wave without losing all your health. Pickups are useful, but a route through several enemies may cost too much to reach one.
  4. After a defeat, begin another game. Try changing your route early rather than repeating the same corner trap.

Tips for a better round

  • Leave a gap to escape through. It's easier to turn before two monsters reach you than after they've closed it.
  • A nearly defeated creature can wait if chasing it means running into the rest of the wave.

Questions about Onslaught! Arena

Are other players joining the arena?

No. This is a single-player game. The retired online leaderboard service is not used in this edition.

Should I use a phone?

A keyboard and mouse suit this game better. The intended setup lets one hand move while the other controls attacks.
